Unintentionally accumulating saved games

I am unintentionally accumulating saved games and want to know what I can do about it.

My latest saved game has just timed out after waiting an HOUR for 'olta' to make a move. Many of my first saved games were a result of my inexperience starting games with people who had too many saved games. Then others who were using wi-fi and kept losing the connection. Others dropped the game without even rolling the dice.

So I now have 15 saved games and heading towards a 'bad' reputation.  :( But, besides a couple that were my dropped internet connection, none of them are my fault  Do I have to simply re-register with a new nickname to resolve this?

I checked my saved games list against active players every time I login and yet droppers frequently seem unwilling to continue games. What's the preferred solution?

Could a game could be removed from the saved games statistics if someone refuses twice?

There is no solution - FIBS' code is fixed and will, I suspect, never change. Oftentimes newbies get lots of saved games as the more malevolent droppers take advantage of them. All saved games eventually disappear - generally in 6 months or so. In the meantime how about picking players with experience over 2,000 or so when, with a few scumbag exceptions, they're very unlikely to be droppers? You'll also not get a dropper if you pick someone who actually expresses a personality - either in the shouts or here on fibsboard. Other ways to find players who'll never drop (and often of considerable talent) are by joining the league here: fibsleagammon or the ladders here: Nacci land.

I think the time for disappearing saved games is closer to 90 day, spiel.  :)  Don't quote me.  I'm not sure of anything these days.

Don's RepPyBot will be on part of the time.  He's looking for someone to host 24/7 and soon, I hope.  When RepPyBot is online, you can use that.  Also, is the saved games page.  I don't have the URL on this strange computer, but I'm sure someone on Fibs can help you with that.  Just shout and ask.

Oh, and by the way, I would never drop you.   :)

I remember reading, somewhere at fibs.com, that saved games get wiped after 30 days.  I've been dropped many times, and 30 days rings about right with my experience.

There's also a "droppers hall of shame"  -- http://www.fibs.com/savedgames/shame.html

You're welcome to give me a ring -- I won't drop you either.  But look for me in my new skin -- "Bones"

Skin, Bones -- get it?
