moyang Becomes Third Repeat Winner In Three Weeks

#4 seed moyang (1698) defeated #1 seed dorbel (1866) 6-0 in the semi-finals and #14 seed pck (1560) 8-3 in the finals

moyang joins don as three time Bloody Mary "Sunday Special" winners .. DeaDice and rif_raf have also won two each

all previous Bloody Mary winners will receive invitations to participate in the Bloody Mary "Sunday Special" Season Championship Tournament .. winners of two or more weekly tourneys will receive two invites .. the tournament will be a multi-day event with 5 point matches and a 7 point final round .. other news and details will be announced soon .. invitations will be sent after the 32nd "Sunday Special" ending the first season of "Sunday Specials" .. check out this early version of our  new season championship trophy developed by luya and a friend

teyakis Wins in Strong Field

with one of the largest and strongest fields (29 players and 1668.0 average rating) #22 seed teyakis (1554) wins her first Bloody Mary pitcher and qualifies for the season championship .. with 29 players, we had 5 players with ratings over 1800 and another 7 over 1700 .. but once again, underdogs ruled the day winning 16 of the 28 matches - five of those were by teyakis on her way to the win

25th Bloody Mary "Sunday Special" Goes to sunray

sunray (1708), #8 seed, defeated #22 seed, zulu (1456), 8-3 in the finals .. zulu broke out to an early 3-0 lead, but threw a possibly risky cube when ahead in the fourth game .. sunray redoubled and eventually gammoned zulu for the win

in keeping with the Bloody Mary tradition of upsets, zulu defeated top seed dorbel 3-0 in round 3 .. sunray defeated RickrinSF in the semi-finals to assure a new winner in this weeks "Sunday Special"

thanks to all for playing in the 25th Bloody Mary "Sunday Special" .. remember, all previous Bloody Mary winners will receive invitations to participate in the Bloody Mary "Sunday Special" Season Championship Tournament .. winners of two or more weekly tourneys will receive two invites to the season championship

the season championship will be a multi-day event (possibly double-elimination) with 5 point matches and a 7 point final round .. this will be a standard TourneyBot event broken into two 16 player brackets to accomodate multiple entries .. the final championship round, if necessary, will be a single 9 point match between the winners of each bracket to be scheduled at mutual convenience for the first Sunday after both brackets are completed .. invitations for the championship brackets will be sent after the 32nd "Sunday Special" sometime during the first week in May 2008

in a strong field with an average FIBS rating of over 1660, KDP, number 6 seed at a 1773 rating, finshed early and defeated #10 DisraeliGears (1660) 5-2 in the finals .. 21 players managed to show up on the morning after the daylight savings time change in the US .. of those, 10 were previous Bloody Mary winners, representing 16 wins in the past 26 "Sunday Specials" .. for those outside the US, next weeks Bloody Mary tourney will start at 1500 UTC - still 10am Texas time

the Bloody Mary "Sunday Special"  season championship will be a multi-day event double-elimination tournament with 5 point matches and a 7 point final round for the right to advance to the championship .. this will be a standard TourneyBot event broken into two 16 player brackets to accommodate multiple entries .. the final championship round, if necessary, will be a 9 point match between the winners of each bracket to be scheduled at mutual convenience for the first Sunday after both brackets are completed .. losses, if any, in the original brackets will be carried over into the championship round in keeping with the double elimination format
