I just arrived in Basel. Presently 34° Celsius. Much tooooo hot. A bit rain would be great but is very unlikely. So no furs required here. To runnerup: Over the weekend a room in the Ramada is 150,- CH per night. There are probably cheaper hotels here, but have no recommendation available. Cu soon, Hardy

I just landed in Basel, and am hopelessly lost. No one speaks English and I'm having trouble communicating with the men driving the sleds with the dogs

It is on us to thank YOU, Samirah, for making this event such a special one. You were a marvellous host. And thanks, too, to Hardy who was a great Captain of the battle ship aka. TD. Hope to see you and all the others who made those days so enjoyable next year again. I am looking forward to this. Thank you, fibsters, thank you, friends Cis

The cup still belongs to a "Schweizer" – Michael Schweizer aka. michaelsw. In a thrilling final he won over Samirah. On the third place is Hardy_whv, and sidie on the fourth.

This was the most international FIBS party ever: South Africa, USA, Italy, UK, The Netherlands, Switzerland and Germany. The winners of the tournament are: Congratulation! I am working hard to put the photos online as soon a possible. Give me some more time. Hardy .... thinking about a party in 2007

Thanks for the photos Hardy. Looks like it was a great time. It's fun to try and create English translations for the German subtitles: i.e. 'Samirah finally notices that there is a crocodile under her table'

It's fun to try and create English translations for the German subtitles: i.e. 'Samirah finally notices that there is a crocodile under her table' Hi Chris, thats why I first linked to the german subtitled photos But meanwhile they are available in an english translation as well. I just hope, my "English" is understandable But I know your German is very good! So you shouldn't have any problems. Hardy

I was behind padski in at least one shot, other than that - keeping well out of the way, as usual My pink board takes a good picture though It was a great party, with lots of lovely touches - especially the signed t shirts and gift exchanges (which reminds me - I still have a fridge full of lovely German beer to go home to ) We are both very much looking forward to the next one - and seriously considering another London event - if I can find a suitable venue.

There will be no tram between "Schifflände", "Bankverein" and "Heuwaage". But everything is in walkingdistance.
yesterday someone in train told me the reason: music in *casino* was too loud, so they put sandbags under the rails.... is this right?

The Casino will be replaced with a new and modern building, but the inside will remain, as the concert hall is classified as a historical monument. To avoid the disturbing noise of the passing trams in the hall they wont use sandbags, but 600 steelsprings (doingdoingdoing).
