As mentioned here earlier, GamesGrid has now officially gone dark as of midnight (EDT) last night. A sad day for the many Gridders who no longer have a familiar place to play with friends they developed over the years.

I never would have guessed that FIBS would outlast GamesGrid, but then again, GamesGrid has no one to blame but themselves.

The gamesgrid.com domain name was sold, but the new site and backgammon server has no connection to the old GamesGrid. Not sure why they bothered, the consensus seems to be it's not even close to the old GamesGrid in terms of features or community.
