Title: Is this the world's most useless backgammon set?
Post by: PolyphonicBrie on October 10, 2006, 09:18:17 PM
Hi

This is a shameless plug for a backgammon set I am selling on eBay.  Please don't bid on it, it's rubbish.

Cheers
SL

:D, it certainly looks very unusual - but what is sooo useless about it - it does look like you could play a game on it while travelling - even on a very rickety train.....

It only lets you place a maximum of 5 pieces on one point!

Ahh I see, although a lot of people do play that rule...Isn't it some variant of the game?

I've (very rarely) come the five pieces on a point rule yet always thought it a misunderstanding cos even on a normal board to get more than 5 on a point you have to stack them. IF I agree to play with that rule (if I think them a real dummy) I'd demand Jacoby and beavers and expect to win lots!
