hello,

for several weeks now i can't connect to fibs. anyone know what's going on?

Tom

works here... several weeks? sounds like a configuration problem on your end

It might help people to help if you could give more information - what messages do you recieve when you try to log in etc.  It can be for many different reasons - I was unable to log in for a while cos my client had somehow corrupted my password in its memory - the fix for that was to simply retype in my password.

Please give us a little more to go on.

But it certainly is something at your end - fibs has been just fine for all that time - as you could have found out by checking the link on the home page here to check fibsboard status.

Especially:

 - What interface are you using (JavaFIBS, 3DFIBS, .....)?
 - Could you log in before?
 - What did you change since your last successful login?
 - Do you receive an error message from FIBS?

hi, i'm using CocoaFibs for Mac OS X Haven't changed a thing. Message says something like 'attempt to login has failed'. Tried it as well with JavaFibs... and i think it said 'connection refused'.
Not a password thing, cause that's the first thing i checked. I did download the latest CocoaFibs to make sure i got everything right. But tried all of this on two different computers and it's just not going through.

Hardy_whv

How did you check its not a password thing? If FIBS says "connection refused" it sounds to me, that there is a connection to FIBS, but you are not accepted to log in. And having tested it with two interfaces, its neither a CocoaFibs nor JavaFIBS issue.

Try once to log in via a web-based interface, like JavaFIBS-Applet: http://www.fibs.com/~cthulhu/

If it still doesn't work, I guess, there's something wrong with your account. If I ask FIBS "whois atease" it tells me: "No Information about user atease". Looks like you don't exist there at all.

Yours,

i know it's not a password thing, because i retyped the correct password several times. and logging in through the webinterface tells me i apparently don't exist indeed.

how did this happen?

Hi atease,

Maybe you have not entered the server for a long period. In that case, I think that your account is deleted automatically. If this is not the case, then email Patti and ask her . . .

atease

nope, that's not the case either. as you can see i'm addicted ;)
how do i contact Patti?
