Far and away the best list of links is always:
http://www.chicagopoint.com/links.html

This includes various links for finding local clubs. If you're new to backgammon then I'd recommend trying to find some live games to play as well. Online we lose out a lot on hearing why people chose particular moves over others.

There's also some quizzes and the latest info on getting gnubg and other bots. Some people seem to become masters at the game now without ever having human opponents!

Well, that is a mess of noisy adverts and, fearing death by pop ups, I left pretty swiftly....

Well, the URL has been taken over by some company (or has been sold to this company) and Art Graters Backgammon Portal moved to this new location:

Stupid question - I was playing on MSN but got tired of the quitters. On that, to move the checkers,
you click and drag. How do you move them on FIBS?!

If you're asking how to move on Fibs, it depends on which interface you use, and the best ones to use are Javafibs or 3DFibs.  In either of these, you move by right mouse clicking on the higher move first or left mouse button clicking on the lower dice first.   Smiley
