recently, i noticed some text in the random pics section of the forum home page ... i read it and paused .. it was good .. it fit where i am and where i want to be .. i googled up the first line of the text to find the source .. i found it and it became even more interesting .. here is the text

Quote
And then I found another list in one of my diaries that actually contained all the things that I thought I learned in my life so far.

  • Complaining is silly. Either act or forget.
  • Thinking life will be better in the future is stupid. I have to live now.
  • Being not truthful works against me.
  • Helping other people helps me.
  • Organizing a charity group is surprisingly easy.
  • Everything I do comes back to me.
  • Drugs feel great in the beginning and become a drag later on.
  • Over time I get used to everything and start taking it for granted.
  • Money does not make me happy.
  • Traveling alone is helpful for a new perspective on life.
  • Assuming is stifling.
  • Keeping a diary supports my personal development.
  • Trying to look good limits my life.
  • Worrying solves nothing.
  • Material luxuries are best enjoyed in small doses.
  • Having guts always works out for me.

-- Stefan Sagmeister , TED 2004 Ideas Worth Spreading

Along the same lines as you started with this, here's something you might like that I sent to my "joke list" recently:

Hope to see you on FIBS soon!   Yes
