I currently have absolute backgammon 64 and remain skeptical that there is nothing better.
I am looking for software that simply loads and works on a iMAC. No code editing required.

No membership fee. There is no software for you to download. There is no awkward Flash or Java content. Games can be played in correspondence mode, via eMail or via a web interface. No doubling cube. However it does have a small community of players who are happy to play on a site that is not overloaded with too much functionality or media content.

Using backgammon software / Gnu Backgammon. Compiling for ...
Last post by dashstofsk - September 23, 2021, 06:10:04 PMCan I ask whether anyone here has managed to compile the GnuBG open source code and generated a program executable for running on Windows? Or has at least tried? I would like to be able to do so for the console version of the program ( gnubg-cli.exe ). However the GnuBG web site gives almost no instructions for doing so.

I've been more of a lurker than a community member, but I've been playing for years (fond memories of vanished jokebot).
Long story short, I've spent the pandemic finishing a long-abandoned MA program by writing an Android client for FIBS. It's still beta software but it works. Android 8 or better recommended. I mostly play on a tablet, but it runs on my Moto x4 just fine.
