I like to make the 4 point, that way we don't have to break our 7point and we have lots of rolls to make our 5 in the next couple turns.

Problem is, by staying back we risk getting quietly trapped. It's a 2 pip race, I favor 24-20, 7-5. We make a key point in our board and basically force our opponent to perform.

I don't like quietly losing, going out like a fart in a thunderstorm isn't my idea of backgammon. Let's challenge him now while the race is even and he has no inner board.
