The hit almost seems forced.  We have to leave a shot somewhere, so why not hit a blot while we're at it?  Although he has a better board than us, ours is not too shabby so the exchange of hits isn't too disadvantageous.  Moreover, by taking away half his roll we should get a shot at his other two remaining blots.

I'm just not seeing any other move.
