I need to stall for time so that i can roll a six.  Minimizing transitions seems the way to go, so 2/1*(3) 9/8.  No transitions, and it puts a second checker on the bar which should give me another roll or two to escape as well as increasing the gammon chances.

A couple of rolls ago I was hoping that the Herd would enter and begin to crunch.  Now it seems a little late for that.
