Title: Question on using gnubg to analyze saved 3dfibs matches
Post by: godwinson on December 11, 2010, 05:39:32 PM
I am new to fibs.  Is there a post on the fibs board or on line that explains to a non-technician how to export saved games from 3dfibs to gnubg for analysis or otherwise use gnubg for analysis of saved 3dfibs matches?

Any advice or replies are most appreciated.

Thanks,

Harold G

The first is Albert Silver's clear and useful guide to using Gnu. The second is our very own Zorba's guide. I have used Albert's guide and found it very helpful. By reputation Zorba's is guide is also excellent. Between the two you should find all that you need to know. Happy analysing.

You may also find it an improvement to ditch 3dfibs and switch to the superior Javafibs.

PS is there a manual or guide to java fibs?  It is less inviting then 3dfibs visually

There is a "help" file included in the download.  If you need more help, there are many on Fibs eager to help.     It may take some time to get to know Javafibs but well worth the effort.   ;)

Thanks for the help.  I have learned how to export games from 3dfibs to gnu bg.  The "batch analysis" command under analyze was key.

You can drag'n'drop a file from your jf_mat folder into the gnubg program window, and it will load the match.  Then you can analyze or whatever.
