Title: stats.dat
Post by: zumwinkel on March 25, 2003, 03:55:46 PM
Though I've played many matches with several people, the stats on the invitation shows always 0 pts, 0 % won.

What have I done wrong?

Hi,

I am not sure what the problem is but the stats.dat file contests should look like this..

filler1234~9~8~7
filler1234~9~8~7
mloner~9~8~7
gnu~6~5~4
MonteCarl3~2~1
gnu_tutorI~0~0~0

The 4 fields are seperated by the \"~\" character.
The file should be at least 170 bytes.

Hope this helps

Hi,

it doesn't work. As long as 3dfibs runs, the stats.dat is update correctly and I can view it.

But when I leave 3dfibs and view the *.dat with my explorer I find a stats2.dat with date and time of exiting 3dfibs and the following content:

mloner~0~0~0
gnu~0~0~0
MonteCarlo~0~0~0
gnu_tutorI~0~0~0

stats.dat is also there and contains:

mloner~0~0~ Another FIBS bot
gnu~0~0~GnuBG based 1 ptr bot
MonteCarlo~0~0~The oldest bot on FiBS and a real lucky one
gnu_tutorI~0~0~A GnuBG bot that gives hints

But the statistics of my session are gone.

I'm using WinXP. Should I reinstall?

TIA
Andreas

Hi there,

It seems that there is a bug in the backup scheme with some minimum file size requirements. I have to go back and clean it up. In the mean time, delete stats2.dat and replace contents of stats.dat with this.. (10 entries)

filler123~0~0~0
filler123~0~0~0
filler123~0~0~0
filler123~0~0~0
filler123~0~0~0
filler123~0~0~0
filler123~0~0~0
filler123~0~0~0
filler123~0~0~0
filler123~0~0~0

This should work.. if you have any additional data, you can add to it. It just needs to be a minimum 170 bytes or so.

Thanks for taking time to report this error!!
I am sure all new users were affected but no one bothered to say anything.

Hi !
I have a problem
I want to locate stats.dat file on D partition So if I recover windows this file doesn't change
Is there any way to locate this file except " C:\Documents and Settings\user\My Documents " ?
For example " D:\3DFiBs\Save .... "
