7/3, 2 off leaves a spare on both the 5 and 6 which means that there are no shot leaving rolls for us next time. And we get to remove a checker.  What's not to like about that?

Maybe the other moves pay dividends later, but this seems best now.

I'm not terribly worried about leaving a shot, but why take unnecessary risks?

tsk tsk, 7/3, 2/off leaves shots next after 6-4 and 4-4, as well as a bad position after 5-5. However, it is probably right with White having no board.
