Title: FIBS - New user problem
Post by: spand42 on December 11, 2012, 02:26:58 PM
I am trying to find somewhere good online to play backgammon and FIBS seemed like a good place to play, especially as I've also used FICS in the past.

However I am struggling to get connected. I've downloaded the JavaFIBS2001 client but when I click "New User" and type in my details + register, the program just seems to freeze.

The same has happened when I tried to register with http://www.fibs.com/javafibs/register.html (http://www.fibs.com/javafibs/register.html).

Any helps & tips would be greatly appreciated!

have you looked at http://www.fibsboard.com/index.php?page=10 (http://www.fibsboard.com/index.php?page=10) and http://www.fibsboard.com/javafibs/ (http://www.fibsboard.com/javafibs/) which is a support board for javafibs  -- if you still have problems post a new topic in http://www.fibsboard.com/javafibs/ (http://www.fibsboard.com/javafibs/) giving your OS and version of javafibs GL

Also, consider emailing pattib@fibs.com to check if there are issues with creating new usernames just now, or anything similar.

Find another client, log in to FIBS with that, get your username and password, then try logging in with that info using JavaFIBS?
