analysing fibs matches

hi,  im having a problem analyzing my matches with gnu.  i have the latest 3dfibs version (4.0.28)  i have the option checked to save all matches as a jf.mat.  when i play gnu offline i can analyze the match without any problem, the problem im having is when i try to analyze my fibs matches.  i get a pop up window saying something about illegal moves or incorrect moves.  any help would be appreciated.  thanks

Hi KDP,

This can occur if the log file for the game is not saved correctly. Sometimes a resumed game log file will not show the first part or some lines from the beginning of the file will be missing. One way to try to try to fix this is to manually examine the log file and edit it to match a known good log file. Most errors are in the first few lines. From there use the 3dfibs log->jf.mat menu to convert it. If you cant salvage the whole match, you can try isolating a specific game in the log file and converting that to jf.mat for checker play at least. Basically you will be looking for a log file that starts with ..

gBOTexpert makes the first move.

If the error is further down (rare, most errors are at the beginning), find the location and look for missing, trucated or double entries, edit and re-convert.

i wwent back and looked again and its not a problem with saved games, these are matches ive played start to finish in one setting.  it looks like somehow its taking my first couple of rolls and showing them as my opponents moves.  but my question is why would this happen with just my fibs matches and not when i play gnu offline?  what if anything can i do to correct the problem?  do i need to delete the 3dfibs and reinstall it?  thanks again for your imput.

can you post the first 20 lines of the game.log file that is not converting? Is this happening on EVERY game you play on fibs?

it seems to be every game, i had acutally deleted 3dfibs and re-installed it so this is the only game i have with the new installation.   but all the games from previously were the same.
