This is an easy, yet interesting position with emphasis on "strategic vision". White has managed to escape both his back men and have a clear advantage in race, while red's only accomplishment has been making a 3-pt prime with no home board. Red doesn't fear a gammon loss and should wage an all-out war to win this vital game. Thus making an advanced anchor is the lowest in his priority list right now. In these kinds of situations, having a deep anchor, or even no anchor at all is much better than having an advanced anchor which will allow the race leader to get his men jump over it into saftey. Instead, red should start making his home board, planning to get a shot as white's position is somehow inflexible and might well leave a direct or indirect shot next roll(s).

Making the anchor is a terrible blunder here:

The leftist's feelings of inferiority run so deep that he cannot tolerate any classification of some things as successful or superior and other things as failed or inferior. This also underlies the rejection by many leftists of the concept of mental illness and of the utility of IQ tests.  - T.K
