I actually thought quite while about the correct move here, in this beginner's position!  :ohmy:

Yes, leaving only one shot instead of two is a very important factor here.

As has been written above in various ways, the complicating factor here is that the play that leaves just the 5-5 from the bar, gives opponent a huge joker with it, since it also covers the fourpoint in the process as well as preparing for even better containment later. By contrast, the 6-4 hit would give 13 strong return-hits and is therefore not nearly as devastating.

It might be a close call, if it weren't for that other factor dorbel already mentioned: moving the outfield checker 11/10 gives clearly better chances to bring this thing home safely next turn, if you are not hit right away. The improvement is not that big, however, this scenario is by far the most frequent and therefore still an important gain overall!
