i've sat through watching a texas hold em at a  BG tourney to way late - and used it as an excuse for my poor performance next day. I'd love to learn -- can anyone suggest some succinct tutorials, and is it possible to play online without money or is that just crazy:)

im mad for texas hold em poker ! There are many sites to play online: partypoker, play365 and many many more. As a phoney player lol I use acesroyal which can be played for fun, to learn or for cash: limit or no limit. This is available to pc users i believe and recommend it. Its voted best online poker site by many magazines etc. 
Warning! You are limited to depositing £2000  per day max lol there is a trial available and the software is updated often. Really cool site. You will find idiots on the practice tables but not on the money play tables esp no limit. I will find out more online poker sites and post them here.

There are too many to list, just google poker online and see for yourself.
As i said I love poker as well as backgammon but never the twain shall meet. If your playing poker concentrate on your hand, match, tourney.
If your playing backgammon concentrate on your board, match, tourney!
Attempting to play in a poker tourney whilst playing Bg on fibs will only end in a saved game and probably a complaint.
And so it should, its bad manners!

  aint seen this b4 but I like it Stog, not many members but plenty there for the beginner to learn. And not only texas hold em.
