Red to play 4-2

The leftist's feelings of inferiority run so deep that he cannot tolerate any classification of some things as successful or superior and other things as failed or inferior. This also underlies the rejection by many leftists of the concept of mental illness and of the utility of IQ tests.  - T.K

Also since I think this was a really entertaining match, I decided to provide the whole match in PDF format. I hope you'll enjoy it.

Hitting (6/4*) is clearly correct and the best 4 looks like 18/14 (Gnu and Snowie rollout), staying back with one and increasing cover numbers with the other. 20/16, 6/4* is a close second, although slightly less efficient when White dances. 6/4*, 6/2 isn't a contender as you must remake the board in order to have a reasonable chance of winning. Not hitting is awful, although amazingly Snowie 3-ply thinks that 18/14, 3/1 is equal best!
Breaking the board and leaving a direct double shot is right here because (a)White has no board, (b)gammons don't count and (c) Red is so far behind in the race. Change any of these factors and not hitting becomes more reasonable.

I'd have to agree with snowie here. I don't mind hitting inside red's board, but I don't want to give up the 6 point. There should still be many hitting opportunities for red, barring a big double for whiet.
