Never give up on the things that make you smile

Yesterday an article crossed my way in which a highly complicated position was analyzed. As often, THE very best move was said to be overly clear due to simple reasoning (you all know this kind of advice I suppose).

At the end, the author were indeed right with their solution by -0.013 to -0.030 as shown by a lengthy rollout, but the funny thing is, that even GNUbg 4-ply was way besides the track discrediting the best move with a solid -0.122 malus; so I doubt the line of reasoning is overly compelling.

The lesson I learn from that some sort of  seemingly 'compelling' reasoning could also be found for weaker moves; even for blunders.

So - let's try and find a reason why 9/4 6/2 is a brilliancy.  B)

Analyse all you like, it's 6/1 6/2 for me.  :)

At this stage leaving even one voluntary shot simply can't be right - when the worst that can happen by playing safe is that I leave the same shot next roll.
