After a lot of questions about the results of group A, I decided to post the point reward rule. This system is similar to fridays3, but many people ask me why the difference between the winner and runner up was only 2 points instead of 4. This happened because mrbond took a "bye" in the first round.

According to http://fibsleagammon.free.fr/tfridays3.htm In each tourney, points will be rewarded like this (16 players bracket): Winner:12 points, finalist 8 points and other players will get 2 points for each win. In 32 players bracket, Winner:14 points, finalist 10 points and other players will get 2 points for each win.

According to http://fibsleagammon.free.fr/Rating_Championship_2005.htm In each tourney, points will be rewarded like this: all players will get 2 points for EACH WIN and the two finalist will get EXTRA bonuses. The winner +4 and the runner up +2.

So, as mrbond took a ââ,¬Å"byeââ,¬Â in the first round, he played 1 match less than sticks. Consequently, he lost 2 points. The main difference between the two systems above is that ââ,¬Å"byeââ,¬Â plays important role in the second one and no role in the first one.

As I said above with a "bye", you lose 2 points but with a "forfeit" of your opponent you don't lose these points. Tds used the command "award win" in order to advance you to the next round, so it counts as a win and you get that 2 points. That's why Zakasax took  2 points more.

I must tell that the Rating Championship Tourney started 2 hours later than the normal time this Sunday. I know that this was against the tourney rules, but it was very difficult to find 4 players who satisfied both limit (rating 1801+ & rep 0+) as there were only 4 players logged in that time.

A friend suggested lowering the rating of this group to 1751+. I believe that the problem may exist only the summers (as most fibsters join beaches every Sunday)

Any ideas or suggestions are welcome.

Because there is a possibility of having 2 players with equal points in first place, I add a new rule in RCT's rules. You can find it in the official RCT page or below:

In case of a draw in 1st place, then the champion is the player with more 1st places in all tourneys that were run that period. In case of a draw again, the champion is the player with more 2nd places in all tourneys that were run that period etc.This rule is only for the quarterly winner and not for runner up (If two players take the same points in 2nd place, they will share the second place).

Moj took two 1st places and Fishboy took one. That's why Moj took the title.

All RCTs must have at least 4 players. In case that any tourney fails to have enough registrations in a 30 minutes period, then that tourney will be dropped and every participant will be awarded with 2 points.

If this rule does not not work then I will re-arrange the rating limits of each group.

I have just changed a little bit the rule 8 of RCT as you can see below:

8. Only 1 person can be a champion for a specific period and no more than 4 can be runner-ups. In case of a draw in 1st place, then the champion is the player with more 1st places in all tourneys that were run that period. In case of a draw again, the champion is the player with more 2nd places in all tourneys that were run that period etc. This rule is only for the quarterly winner and not for runner up (In case of 4 players or less than 4). If two players take the same points in 2nd place, they will share the second place. But in case of more than 4 players e.g 5 or 6, only 4 can take the runner-up place so the method that was   described above will be used to choose the 4 runner-ups (Special thx to Tomawaky, Moj and Fishboy for the creation of this rule)

Until now RCT could have 1 champion and infinite runner ups. With this rule, I set the limit lower or equal to 4 runner ups. So in case of 5 players one player will take the third place. This modification is due to technical reasons (The creation of RCT Hall of Fame See announcement)

For Jan it depends on the tourneys that Socksey ran. I must check if we have enough tourneys in order to give a title. Btw thx again Socksey for your help!!!

After the failure to increase the demand for Rating Championship Tourney (RCT) Group C, I decide to let people vote for the more efficient rating limit. I want to thx Tryout for his suggestion. Decreasing the rating limit for this group to 1751+ or 1701+ can be a good solution. I think Group Bââ,¬â,,¢s demand will not decrease a lot if we lower the upper limit to 1750 or 1700.

Please help me to decide what rule I must choose by voting here

Note that the decision will be taken at the end of the current month and until then I will continue running RCT for group B with rating limit 1501-1800.

NO RCT for today due to my increasing responsibilities. I am the only TD who is hosting this tourney and it is very difficult to hold it alive

After 16 months of successful hosting, I  am thinking to return to the first plan and host it only once a month. This is my only option to keep it alive except if i have some help from at least another TD...
