What money servers do fibsboarders use?

I use FIBS 99% of course... it's first, free and friendly albeit in a snake pit kind of way at times! and my brief plays on other servers are limited. I have played for small stakes on

and found it OK, but my general advice would be caution when playing online for money....familiarise yourself with the software by playing free games first. Definitely don't play for money if you have a flaky connection, as timeouts could cost you! Also if you have the gambling gene be very careful........

required no download if I remember, instead it uses a Java interface through your browser. I was also able to stick my winnings on a horse that decided to stop for a snack in the 3.30 at Kelso and on Chelsea having only 2 managers this year!

As I spring clean the board, I am assessing links to various 3rd party sites, and I should like to hear from boarders as to their experiences with the following

for the purposes of research i was about to register at truemoneygames and Partygammon, but see they have a "tell a friend" campaign, where each get an incentive... so if you are already a player there, perhaps you could suggest me as prospective punter, that way we each get an incentive ...thx

I can't see the point in playing for cash online when my opponent could have snowie, jf or gnu booted up on his computer.

how the hell do you put an individual position in gnubg? i looked at zorba's article which gave instructions - but just setting up an end position took a friend and i 2 bottlesof beer - and then it wasn't right!

the idea of loading/reviewing a game without a friend helping on another computer doesn't seem feasible given time constraints - but then if you had a well trained collie dog all would be possible - but would end with you being dragged out for a 3 mile stomp anyhow..

good advice tho - 2 people could use a computer within the time constraints on these servers - but the good sites will check i think if they suspect computer use, and given gnubg's usual "awful" beginner" labels on my analysis of wins - might well spark alarms if "supernatural" world player" kept cropping up!

You just need to work fast enough with the mouse and you will be able to complete a move below 6 seconds..

You don't need to consult gnu while playing for money. If you are a person capable of doing a little programing, then you can hook up gnu to play for you. You can even program it not to play too well and include an occasional mistake! It can be done and indeed it often has been done. It is very difficult to detect. However, if you play for money and find that (a) your opponent is playing very well and/or (b) you are losing, then if you keep playing you must be barmy! The overwhelming majority of money players are playing honestly and a lot of them are not very good. The problem however isn't what you lose to the other players, it's what the site rakes from the pot after every game. In the long run it is almost impossible to beat it. It has an effect on your take points as well. If you take a 2 cube at a dollar a point, then on partygammon for example, you will lose $2 if you lose, but only gain $1.76 if you win! Some sites rake more than this.
I have replayed and analysed hundreds of matches from fibs and never seen any evidence that anybody is playing well enough to be suspected of cheating by using a bot.

thx Adrian but we had a position with 2 opposing primes with each of us having a chequer or 2 on the bar which we were interested in seeing how gnubg would deal cubewise... to set up that position did not seem easy at all.

granted a new game, as shown in the movies, is ok but as i said above - computer type performances can be monitored /flagged - whether or not the sites actually do this , i am not so sure:)
