I was amused by the picture of the demonstrator carrying the sign proclaiming that housing is a HUMAN RIGHT.

In what country ? Under what law ? Guaranteed in the Magna Carta or the US Constitution ?

Before I start sounding too heartless I have a solution. Since the science of global warming is SETTLED, I see no need to continue spending billions of dollars on further scientific research. If we tomorrow developed a miracle vaccine that cured AIDS would we continue spending billions looking for a cure ? I think not.

Sooooooooooooooooooo, why not redirect those billions of dollars, pounds, pesetas, Euros, etc from a project that requires no further research to provide homes for all the poor wretches who have been denied a basic human right ?

Since there will probably be billions left over, I suggest that ******, ***** and the Fiske family of London be appointed to a committee to itemize other overlooked HUMAN RIGHTS that could be financially addressed.

See The Universal Declaration of Human Rights. http://www.un.org/en/documents/udhr/ et al. Written 65 years ago, no less true today.

You may not, but as this is one of the greatest problems facing the world today, a reasonable person might think that ceasing to research it and gather data on it would be absurd.

also in the UK

QuoteUK Common Rights Project insists that the poorest and most vulnerable people in our society should have the rights to shelter, food, water and sanitation. After all, that is how a society is judged.
