Hi guys!

Happy new year! :-)

I just shrink wrapped the latest version of Backgammon Studio which contains some nice improvements:

  • Several new challenges (training tracks if you like):

    • Fearless! Leave a blot for direct shot? Looks risky but perhaps now is the time to do so?
    • Double Trouble! You just rolled a double! Twice as many chances to get it wrong!
    • Cubed! The cube just came sailing across the board! Be brave or admit defeat?
    • 3rd roll checker! Too early to make a big mistake?
    • Breakup! Breaking up is hard to do! Now you have to break up your prime or do you?
  • Several new action tags:

    • Pick and pass or not - Classical problem of hitting in your home board and either leave a blot or move it to safety.
    • Bury a checker or not - Very painful to put a checker out of play but perhaps you have to?
    • Slot the ace or not - Slotting the ace can sometimes have a tactical advantage.
    • Hit on the ace or not - Hitting on the ace can sometimes be a useful tempo hit.
    • Slot the front of opponent prime or not - Going for a great anchor or perpare for a great escape!
  • New search now also support specifying the dices.
  • Bookmark headers for easier folder navigation.
  • Match info dialog for devices where all info can't be displayed properly at once.
  • Old inspecting of challenges (in your private database) has been retired and integrated with the new challenge select section.
  • Position type masters now require more positions to qualify.
  • In your private training ground you can limit the errors that are used by date to only train on your latest errors.
  • Scorecard on the backgammon board to easier spot the current score which can be key to many problems.
  • Sort by date in position forum.
  • More help buttons in the interface for direct access to useful help information.

    • In position forum.
    • In matches list.
    • In importing matches.
    • Eventually all sections should have a help dialog.
  • Deleting the last match for a player will allow you to delete the player also to reduce the number of players in match player dropdowns.
  • Merging and renaming tournaments has been integrated into the matches list.
  • View performance progress per month in your private database.
  • Specify a match threshold to qualify for the Average PR overview as comparing average PR for players with only a couple of matches with others with many matches is perhaps not so useful.

Give it a try!
