Friend Alert not working in 4054

The friend alert sound never plays, I'm using v4054 which I upgraded onto a fresh 4053 install.

Any solutions?
(the check is in the preferences for friend and all other sounds are working properly)

It isn't working for me in 4053 either   :cry: :wacko:
