After 2 years at FIBS, I can't continue my presence here due to personal issues. Herewith I apologize to all the fibsters who were harassed/annoyed by me and hail my friends who I enjoyed their company. I hope all fibsters are fine and having fun.

Well, this time it's real and it's fo good. I have been banned from shouts for about 6 months now and after my tonight's conversation with Patti, I just realized that there is absoultely no chance of removing this ban.
I should emphasis that I was given a fair chance by Patti to correct my behavior before I was banned from shouts, even though my susequent requests to be given another - last - opportunity were all declined.
And since FIBS is more a 'community' to enjoy socializing with friends rather than a mere backgammon server - at least to me - it's no fun to continue playing in FIBS without shouting. So I decided to quit altogether.
I will absolutely miss my friends in FIBS, especially: NIHolympic, socksey, maria, Dea, inim, resh, manx, Tanika and even the naughty donz.
Regarding FB, I hope to revive the 'problem' section in which I used to post technical problems of BG to be probed by FIBSters.

I find the most remarkable and surprising thing from my perspective about what PL has said, given my impression of some of his shouts and fibsboard posts over the years, is his forthright and unqualified admission that he was given a fair chance by Patti to correct his shout behavior before being permanently shout banned and all of this without rancor, nastiness, finger pointing at others or questioning admin Patti's integrity.
I found that quite admirable and I must admit it was not what I expected from the PL persona.
Kudos to PL.

FIBS is primarily a backgammon server where the majority of people come to play backgammon, not participate in communal shouting, though a small percentage come primarily to shout and be shouted at.

Being shout banned doesn't prevent PL from using "tells" or other means to communicate with friends so I find this somewhat confusing as to PL's definition of what is a friend. The aforementioned illustrious body of PL's friends are all shouters.
Must one be a shouter to be a friend? The more they shout, the better the friendship?
Lapses in logic aside, PL is to be commended.
Now, let's play some backgammon.
I have chatted and played BG with PL from day one of his nick until today - the shout ban made no difference for that. And while Patti may be adamant with her ban, you are welcome playing and chatting with me anytime, PL. PL is a "problem child" in many ways, but (a) I definitely find he is going trough development for the better and (b) never was a bad person, just one with some odd views and habits. I also think for him, living in the iranian province, fibs was a window to the world. And for me it was a window into iran. I am saddened this window may close now.

vegasvic, NIHILIST, and several others are usually there. Our participation is currently low, but that's because andreas is still working on bugs on the site. He's doing a good job and slowly, things are coming around. Just change login to tigergammon.dyndns-home.com and port 4321 is same.
All clients from Fibs work there and all commands are not in place as yet, but increasing daily. :yes:
