My father, Don F. Hanlen, died on July 31 this year.  He was a veteran of World War II, landed in North Africa, Sicily, Italy (twice) and France.  He was called back into military service during the Korean conflict.  He was a pioneer in the peaceful use of nuclear power, wrote a physics text, participated in his community as long as he was able (he gave up delivering meals-on-wheels just four months before his death at 84) and was known as a good man by all who knew him.  His wife, my mother, was Judith C(ausey) Hanlen, a school teacher and professional who also gave to the community before she died.  (Her big thing was teaching English on the side, for free.)  Her brother, my uncle, was a naval pilot (PBYs) who didnââ,¬â,,¢t come back from the Pacific..

My condolences, Don.  May you find comfort in your good memories of your dad.

For general information, the starting post on this thread is not from me.  It contains some parts of a post I did write.  I can't imagine anyone with any integrity would bowdlerize my original post to read as this one does, nor their purpose.  I'd delete it if I could.
