Is there a preferred location at FIBS to ask opinions on equipment? I am traumatizing myself trying to select a board in the $200-300 dollar range. Attache or folding case style. Smooth play surface. Some bounce no clatter like my wood 23-29ish inch length. Crislod sells the fabric topped crocolisc, Dal negro sells the leather surfaced briarwood, Michelli sells an all leather set. I am not sure about the golden anchor sets nor the vitor Hollandas. Thanks for directing me to a preferred post site if this is the wrong spot.

I'm sure you'll get some help here, but another place you might want to try is the backgammon newsgroup:
rec.games.backgammon

You can reach it thru Google newsgroups if you don't already have a newsreader.

Good luck in your quest!

Currently there seems to be a lot posted there about "hot babes" and various political opinions. Im really finding nowhere on the net with an ongoing discussion about currently available equipment. :(

Ahhh...the demand for backgammon boards may wax and wane...but the demand for hot babes is eternal.. ;)

I found it a bit hopeless trying to find boards on the net, the only way to be really sure is to touch one and throw some dice on it.  Can you get to any large tournaments where you are?  That is always a great place to actually get a real life look at and feel for some of the boards out there.
