The options for an opening 6-4 are Run (24/13), Split (24/18 13/9) and Point (8/2 6/2).

Since the Herd has already run with 6-5, running is out - playing to break contact when behind in the race is rarely correct.  S and P are probably fairly close, but since gammons are particularly valuable here I'll go for the marginal more gammons I get from making a homeboard point.  P.
