Not sure what you mean with IP here. The parameters for the TELNET-interface access are:

Host: fibs.com
Port: 4321

Using JavaFIBS you enter those settings in the menu: "Preferences" --> "Server".

Thats hard. I would be near to suicide, if that happend to me  ;)

Hoping that you solve your problems soon

Tomawaky, the IP is 65.122.198.180. But what do you need it for? None of the interfaces I've ever seen needs the IP. You access it with "fibs.com".

Btw, FIBS does not answer on my pings here. But still I am online. Your problem is probably either your interface (do you use JavaFIBS???) or your firewall. If you use JavaFIBS it might be Java as well.

Hi Tomawaky

Yes, I have the same IP Address. And FIBS works as usual.

Try the following:
telnet fibs.com 4321
at the command line.

It *must* work.

If it works: you have a problem with your FIBS client
If it doesn't work: you have a problem with your provider or your firewall.

This is a DNS problem and therefore depends on your ISP. FIBS has 2 interfaces and for systems where fibs.com usually resolves to 67.122.198.180 sometimes it doesn't.

If everything works normally the following addresses are given:

> nslookup fibs.com
Server:  localhost
Address:  127.0.0.1

Name:    fibs.com
Addresses:  198.144.203.150, 67.122.198.180

Also note that 67.122.198.180 doesn't answer on (ICMP) pings. 198.144.203.150 does answer.

A few months ago I've also had problems connecting to the 67.xxx address. Right now both addresses work, though.

So, Franck, you can test the following:

telnet fibs.com 4321
telnet 198.144.203.150 4321
telnet 67.122.198.180 4321

The test ist ok, if you get the FIBS Startup-Messages until the login-prompt.

Something *must* work.

So I just tested the 2 IP but 67.122.198.180 doesn't work
Only 198.144.203.150 is still working ..... !

thanks you all for your help

yesterday I success with difficulty in dos command with 67.122.198.180 ip but not really good

Correct, diane.  How can we help if we don't understand?  Will all you who posted here in French or whatever, please translate in English also, now and always?

Thank you very much..............socksey

Hey socks,

QuoteWill all you who posted here in French or whatever, please translate in English also, now and always?

what shall those people do, who have a problem, that is so difficult, that they are unable to express it in English (not beeing their mother language)??? You would not be able to help about this technical matter anyhow  :D

If the FIBS-Board is their last hope, leave this opportunity to them.

Relax  :P

Ty hardy, i do agree
and, btw socksey, the french message was only to thanks tomawoky cause i could download javafibs from his website, wich was great cause i could not do it from fibs.com, as i could not connect (just like him). So, as i got tomawaky was a french speaker, i found it natural to thanks him in our language... Didn't think english was the only official and authorized language here on fibsboard, but well... you seem to know more than me about it

socksey

Quotewhat shall those people do, who have a problem, that is so difficult, that they are unable to express it in English (not being their mother language)??? You would not be able to help about this technical matter anyhow

There are all kinds of translations available online, so, it's not so difficult any more.

How do you know my technical expertise or not or that of anyone else reading this?  That is not the point.

Fibsboard is not operated by an English owner, webrunner, but Fibs is, therefore, I feel the #1 language of Fibsboard should be English.

Secondly, webrunner has appointed me moderator, and as moderator, if I do not understand the language posted here, I cannot do my job.  I have stated this many times previously here.  Perhaps you missed it before.

QuoteSo, as i got tomawaky was a french speaker, i found it natural to thanks him in our language...

In this case, there is a personal email option that you can use so that only you and Tomawaky need see your thank you message.   ^_^

I apologize that I only know English, but that is the way it is.  So, humor me, please.   ;)  The job doesn't pay enough for me to translate everything that is posted here in another language.

Thank you for your anticipated cooperation!   :D
