Hitting loose is just plain greedy, and I see no reason to give Patti a 63 or 65 fly shot to leap out and hit.

12/9 10/6 gives her no shots and I'm good with that.  Granted it stacks the 6 point but we still have plenty of flexibility so I don't think that's much of a drawback.

Agreed. We're not going to hit loose any time soon; with three outfield blots, being hit back is throwing away a gammon. The only real alternative to the safe play is something that puts a man on 5 - but that only gives us 54 as a pointing number so not the gain we'd hope for.
