I am leaving soon to begin a 16 day visit with my grand-kids. I won't be able to post final totals for POM until about Wednesday after arriving in Alabama where 4 of the little rug rats live. Well, one rug rat is now a teenager. Regardless, here are preliminary totals extracted by hand from the weekly totals for September, weeks 36, 37, 38, and 39. Of course, these are not official and subject to error, but here is a best first estimate of how the top 5 players in September will sort out when I have time to update the spreadsheet.

A big congrats to socksey who may now also be closing in on the lead held by Perfect_Celle for TPR Player of the Year.   So, it appears we may have a TPR Player of the Year race after all even though vegas_vic, the early leader, has apparently dropped out of the race. I will have an official preview of those totals within another week or two.

Note also that I have pruned out the daily results from all previous weeks, including the last two weeks which I ordinarily leave in place. Thus, if interested, you may easily scroll through previous posts of FINAL TOTALS to see how you or others did during September (Weeks 36-39).

I am home from my road trip visiting grandchildren, but I am still behind in getting the TPR totals for September and October finalized. I am about 7 or 8 weeks behind in transferring final weekly spreadsheets into what I call the Composite Master where monthly and annual totals are maintained. I'll devote a day soon to getting it all caught up.

However, I did take the FINAL weekly totals for the first three weeks of October (Weeks 40, 41, and 42) and run some preliminary totals to give us a reasonable PREVIEW of the October Player of the Month race. Those totals are below. There may be discrepancies of a few points when a player did not make the FINAL list during any given week. Otherwise, the totals should be accurate. There are two weeks remaining in the TPR tournament month of October which closes out on 06-Nov.

We are now pruning the daily TPR results leaving only one PREVIEW post at the end of each day. At the end of each week only the FINAL TOTALS will remain. This makes scrolling through previous weeks much easier.

The thread now consists of only weekly FINAL TOTALS and Player of the Month and Year posts. The latter will soon be moved to another thread. New reports will also summarize Player of the Week and Month winners.

TPR Player of the Month -- October 2011 -- PRELIMINARY PREVIEW

The PREVIEW of the October Player of the Month (POM) race below is unofficial. It is derived from the FINAL weekly totals for the first four weeks of the TPR tournament month of October (Weeks 40, 41, 42, and 43). Since today, Monday, 31-Oct, is within the calendar month of October, this tournament week, Week 44, will be included in TPR October.  

There may be discrepancies of a few points if a player did not make the FINAL list during any given week. Otherwise, the totals should be accurate. The TPR tournament month of October closes out on Sunday, 06-Nov.

While the TPR October POM race is shaping up for an exciting finish, the eyes of the top three players may be on a bigger prize. They are also in a close race attempting to catch Perfect_Celle for TPR Player of the Year honors. You might say it's a horse race.

TPR 2011 Player of the Year -- PREVIEW

The TPR Player of the Year (POY) race is about endurance. It appears that socksey continues to endure playing regularly and continuing to rack up points. For the first time this year, socksey has pulled in front in the POY race. Perfect_Celle, who took the lead from vegas_vic during the summer, now seems to have pulled away from the daily grind of tournament play. Could rumors of life after FIBS be true?

On the otherhand, vegas_vic continues to be unpredictable. He says he has given up on the TPR race and given up on FIBS, but his competitive temperament could be good for another few weeks should he get inspired. But socksey now has a 152 point lead through Wednesday of Week 45. It is approaching now or never time for the vicster.

Cigale and aviator are still in the race, both continue to play regularly, but gaining ground on socksey, who leads them by about 200 points will be difficult. November and December will likely be very busy months for these excellent competitors. If Perfect_Celle and vegas_vic do not resume play soon, Cigale and aviator are both in the running for second and third place. If socksey stumbles, with eight (8 ) weeks remaining until the 2011 TPR Player of the Year race is decided, anything can happen.
