I do prefer the analgy aired in the "mentalist" [series 1]....conversation runs along the lines of women have a series of buttons to press to get what you want..

Female detective [outraged] ..are you calling me a toaster??
Male cop [dumbfounded] looks helpless....says nothing
Mentalist [totally in control]..no, not at all - men are toasters...I think of women more like ....accordians
