some issues I've found on my first day at FIBS:
1) when I check for newest version, it says i am on 2.2.300 and should update to 2.2.301 but when I go to the website, there's no link to download this version (there are only older versions)
2) when I autoinvite GNU, I made the settings to play Nackgammon, but when GNU was available to play, the checkers were in regular backgammon mode.
3) what exactly does "set boardstyle 3" do?? when i click on it, nothing happens (apparently) are there other board types available?
any help appreciated
Paul

GNU on FIBS can only play backgammon, and it doesn't matter what you set your client to.

It sets a boardstyle to something that is easier for clients on FIBS to understand - an array of numbers. The other boardstyles (1 and 2) show a board made of ascii characters, which you can use if you don't have any GUI. Type "help boardstyle" or "help rawboard" on FIBS.

Thanks for reporting the obselete link. It has been updated.
fibs.com environment is a haphazard motley of individual efforts so you may find some rough edges and steeper than normal learning curve to find your way around. The "shout" feature while you are online will usually get you a good and quick response to most question, in addition to this forum ofcourse
