i too, quite like the 'developing' move 13/9, 24/23, but feel that we do not need to react this soon, white having no board, although this lack of board could be construed as a good reason for actually doing it!
i plumbed for 13/8 in the end but would be willing to change my vote, in the event of a tie B)

I would have played 24/23 13/9 - with white having an advanced anchor it's imperative that blue get off the ace point. 13/8 is just too passive while the split puts pressure on the bar point blot and I'll have to give up my anchor to hit on the nine. That said, I made much larger blunders in the last game, so I'm in no position to point fingers.
I can't say I really considered U, but I should have.
