Sorry it took me so long... $DAYJOB has had a lot of my attention lately.
There are two candidate moves here. One is 8/2* 6/2, and the other is 13/3.
Hitting means that I'm trapped until the herd rolls an ace and then breaks their board. I have some time, but not a ton.
13/3 means that the herd escapes with any six or five, but has to break the prime with some rolls. I've flip-flopped back and forth between the two plays quite a lot, but I think I'll just hit.
8/2* 6/2
You might have considered hitting loose. This makes the Herd the fave to enter and, in a perfect world, rolls 1-3, 1-4 or 1-5 which serves to start to decay their home board. Of the loose hitting plays, I think I'd hit loose with the 6 and probably play 8-4.
The cube is in the center and I'm not sure the loose hit is a whole lot more gammonish than your current position, given their 2 point board.
Course then the decisions become do they cube and if they do, what's your response ?
