Title: Game 2, move 9 : Patti 6-1

Herd rolled 4-3 and danced.

This may be obvious, but there are a couple of strategies.

OK, I'll make the obvious play.  "Look, a monkey!"  22/14

I think it is not the least bit obvious.

I suppose I could make the instinctive play, which is 13/7 8/7, but then what?  If you don't enter and break then I'm forced to hit you again if I roll a six.  I don't want to do that.

If not that, then what?  First off, do I want to split my back men?  Survey says... yes.  I think that makes your life harder in the situations where you enter, and as your opponent it's my goal to make your life unpleasant.  So let's do that, and hunt for a six.  Here, sixie wixie.  C'mon out.  Where are you sixiepoo?

22/21 8/2.  I'm picking the six based on "that feels right".  I doubt there's much difference between them.
