6/off is more risk than we need, paying off to 6-6 and 5-5 next, as well as leaving an awkward distribution after some other rolls. 6/4, 5/1 is technically correct, keeping the three spares on different points.

The correct play is to move the spares off of the 5 and 6 point. There are two ways to do this; gnubg prefers 6/2 5/3 slightly, presumably because the other move leaves a spare on the 4 while the favored move leaves two checkers on the 4, 5, and 6 points.
Bearing off the spare on the six is a beginner's mistake. The other moves are howlers.
