Spoiler
My first instinct is lover's leap, and I can't come up with a good argument for any of the other moves. Moving a runner up to the 18 leaves a double shot, and if he hits it he brings another checker or two into blitzing range. Sitting on the ace point and waiting to lose is not attractive either.
