Hi Ann,
Why are you using Telnet for playing.
It's very hard and not very user friendly.
On the fibs website there is aCommand reference list (http://www.fibs.com/CommandReference/index.html).
If you want good ane userfriendly software to use take a look at 3DFibs (http://www.anzwers.org/free/3dfibs).
I hope this helps. :)

If you want help with the telnet problem I think you have to specify more clearly what went wrong. Were you for example logged on to FIBS at the time? Did you receive any error message? The command to invite someone to play is:
invite [name] [points]
where you substitue [name] with the person to play and [points] with how many points you want to play.
If you want to talk to others in the public chat the command is:
shout [message]
for example: shout I want to play a game but I'm new at this so can anyone help?
If you want to play on a graphic interface without installing anything, try the JavaFIBS applet at http://www.fibs.com/~cthulhu/ (http://www.fibs.com/~cthulhu/) which you can use from your web browser.
There is also a more advanced JavaFIBS client that you can install on your computer.
another client with no installation
just get the .exe and run
go to Winfibs Download (http://www.mraccess.de/download.htm)
