Okay, so I didn't make the rule about one nomination per person per month, but I will append that now.
Should we allow people to nominate themselves? ;)

Ok, I guess the first award definitely should go to Marvin, as he started all that <whatever it is :-)>. It's really a honorary price

I don't think we should let people nominate themselves... This just opens up the usual can of worms of our trolls. People who really did something good in respect to this prize sure will be nominated by someone different. And this won't stop our determinated trolls, which will always have some minion who will nominate them. But it makes it somewhat harder.

I voted for Webrunner. Not because he is my boyfriend but because of his good job with starting this forum and all the time he puts in it. And for running a couple of bots here  :P

Just in case there is any confusion as to who have may cast that odd vote.. :)

I voted for marvin to get this very first award - the rest will all be getting them in time of course (well most of em).

Funny thing is, always when i look at this topic i am told that i already voted, but i can`t remember who :( .
But back to the question burper asked.
I think people shouldn`t be allowed to nominate themselves, as far as it is a nice trick ;) it only will bring along an worm of nominations which are senseless and make the poll a joke.
As long as this poll is made to honor people for their work here in this (btw wonderful) community we should try to avoid that people use it to joke about it by nominating themself, or we will have "hundreds" of nominees but only a few are serious meant.

I agree.  I would hate to see the day arrive when fibs will be associated with joking.

I wonder why it says I have already voted in this poll when I haven't...

Where is the nomination for P Beadles, who does all the work?

Which one of the nominees, when offered a chance to have FIBS rewritten, wanted
a $100,000 fee, or however that story went?

How come registering for this place was like rejoining the national security establishment?

i (mjd) am voting for resh_lakish.  although i find him inane sometimes, i feel that a shiny diamond may come out of the rough.  he stimulates me sometimes, intellectually that is, and that goes a long way for receiving my vote.  of course, i will put myself up as a candidate, but will not vote for myself.  hmmm on second thought - it appears that some of you guys are taking this kind of seriously (and i agree seriousness before jokingness in most things) but hell i dont even know what the fibbie of the month is really all about (tried researching this).

sincerely,

mikael jan dejus

Must have been some error then. I'm pretty sure I never did on purpose. I would have remembered...

I can second this bug. I only had a look at the poll results as a first action and never even tried to vote yet. Still at the main page or in this thread it says that I already did vote.

It seems that Null Vote (casting a vote for no one, but looking at the result) is  considered a cast vote.

Yeah, that seems implied. I mean, it's not good to click through to the results *before* you vote. In future polls maybe this can be stated more clearly for people.

Typical election! We have voter apathy, a nomination after voting has begun, a faulty polling machine and probably some hanging chads somewhere. Maybe this server is actually located in Florida...

Wonder why Fergy didn't get a single nomination.....he'd be my clear winner as MacFIBS is easily the best client ever written for our beloved site.

Watch this forum, the May Fibsie nominations will be opening soon! Plenty of people to thank, including Kit and Patti. Who knows, maybe we'll get around to resh or DrMengele :)

Remember, polls close at midnight UTC. Nominations for May start right after.

I wonder if resh can register 5 more fibsboard accounts by then?
