Question for Fibsters.
Do you think it is right for certain members to conduct a bullying, hateful campaign to try to get you removed from Fibs altogether because they have some petty greivance against you?
Vegasvic has ben getting as many of his 'friends' to remove previous vouches for me in order to reduce my reputation. Blotsalot and yourfuturexwife, who I have had many good matches with, have suddenly withdrawn their vouches.
They must have thought I was a nice player to have vouched in the first place, as most people I play do.
This is ridiculous and all because I said something in reply to constant bullying in the lobby by Vic and his 'friends'.
I would seek opinions of other fibsters (preferably not the perpetrators of the bullying) regarding bullying and whether you think it is ok to use such childish tactics to get rid of someone you don't agree with.

They can't get rid of you unless you decide to leave. If you finish all your matches and are reasonably polite to your opponents your Repbot rating will be fine. I rarely look beyond the raw repbot score, and if I do I'm mostly interested in complaints rather than vouches. I wouldn't sweat a couple of withdrawn vouches.
Agree that some of the regulars on shouts can be childish and petty. I'd suggest ignoring them.
I would highly recommend ignoring the bullies, they are there, the sheep love them and that hasnt changed in 18 years - so I dont see it changing overnight now.
Make friends and keep them - the likes of trystman are the lifeblood of this place, dont make enemies out of them, then the bullies can do what they wont, and it wont make a jot of difference.
[you will notice there is no vouch for me from vic, or vice versa ;)]
Blots is no bad guy though, I would suggest approaching him personally and asking what happened.
You have got 15 saved games [or did yesterday], work harder to keep that down, avoid mobile players if it is creeping up, as they will be the worst for losing connection.

Well garp, since you started this post, please let me respond....
The first time we played, we had a very enjoyable match. Even exchanged vouches. The next time we played I was winning handily, and the insults and nasty behavior started. Needless to say, the vouch was wiothdrawn. Since that day I've seen you in shouts villifying everything American, the worst being expressing glee over those who died on 9/11. Sorry garp, I find it hard to sympathize.

I dare say that had either diane or marie/a seen what you so blatantly shouted, they would have been offended also. :o
It is not my personal policy to remove vouches given for good playing behavior because of a breach of ettiquette, i.e., your nasty mouth, and for that reason, I will leave my vouch for you in tact. :(
However, I'd be ashamed of your mouth, if I were you, and I urge you to clean it up. :dry: Wouldn't hurt to offer an appology either!

It would appear that Vic's bandwagon is rolling on - well kind of chugging on, since half of that last post made no sense or was written in some strange grammatical void.
I will take this opportunity to apologise to Jack for anything I have said that may have offended him. If I seem anti-USA, it's probably because of all the anti-everyone-else-rubbish that is spouted in the shout area. But that is no excuse. I am bigger and better than that.
As for the rest, I appreciate the advice given and will take it on board.
I have spoken to both Patti and Tanika, but don't think it would be appropriate to comment on private discussions.
My original post was about whether it was right to conduct a campaign to try to get someone kicked off fibs because you have a personal grievance against them - I would like to re-iterate that. The fact that Vic continues to contact people on my vouch list and ask them to withdraw says it all for me.
As I told him in person, he is a very small-minded vindictive person if this is the main drive in his sorry little life.
As I have said I have spoken to Tanika and, as far as I'm concerned, that matter is now closed. For Vic...........do your best buddy.

As for the rest - I have seen much, much worse than anything Garp said on here about hunting, in shouts from all your favourite people..Nihi and Biggles to name name only two from a very deep pile. But socksey still loves them all - as do the rest. I assume because it is easier than not being their friends. I have seen so many 'never agains' from socksey I lost count - but she always comes around.
The comment about Tan from Garp - please vic...you have said far far worse about me - and still continue, regardless of any requests from Patti to stop [4 years ago you may note]. Not that it keeps me awake at night - just reminds me why I feel the way I do about you.
Having said which, had I seen comments such as Jackdaddy mentions...that would very much change my view. I dont like that kind of hate from anyone, towards anyone. It would take a lot of 'context' to get me to feel that wasn't completely out of line.

It would appear there is more to this than meets the eye.
All I can say is be friends and try to play nice - I'm not interested in the petty politics of this little 'world' that is fibs. I don't know what has gone on between Diane, Vic and Socksey in the past, but find myself siding with the one who isn't mouthing off and being generally abusive.
If I can I will close this thread now as it has been resolved by the parties involved - feel free to carry on with the playground politics vic.

It is good to know the new culture of being nice to each other is working out so well. I have never seen fibs so harmonius and happy.
What has always been the case, continues 'business as usual' for the main users of the lobby.
When 'they' dont like someone - any and all personal attacks are justified, and acceptable.
When 'they' like them, they are not.
I try for a little more consistency - this puts me in the former category. I am happy there, gag works just fine for me, and I am too busy to get overly involved in long drawn out rants. I have no time for anyone who supports the activities of bullies, here or anywhere. Gosh, I seem to have said that a lot.

I agree with most of this except for the "Strangers" part. I have gotten to know so many fibbers over the years and none of them are in the "Strangers" category. :) For this reason, careless remarks sometime hurt very much. :( I am not able to dismiss so easily. :dry:

Tanika posted something about hunting which garp disagreed with
garp made a comment about it, which tanika and vic found hurtful
Vic gave garp a hard time in the fibs environment over it - and garp fought back - in similar terms to those Vic uses daily.
Vic then gets assorted folk to feel sorry for tanika, and to remove vouches for garp

Wouldn't fibs be a nicer place if the established players set a higher tone, and didn't throw nasty insults around the whole time - which hurt others, just as you are hurt by some comments.
That's all I am trying to get to. As long as we have a core of foul mouthed, hate spewing long established players, who are condoned and encouraged by all - that is the tone we will have.

#1) Jack pointed out that Amercians deserved 9/11 . i live in new york city and i lost friends in buildings .

May I just make a few points clear, for the benefit, yet again, of Vic and his little posse.
1/ I sympathise with the families and friends of all those who died in 911. I watched in horror as people would rather jump from the windows than face the terror inside. What I don't agree with, is the murdering by America, and it's 'allies' of innocent civilians in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Whilst I deplore the loss of human life, I have stated that I can sympathise with Al Qaeda's reasons for the attacks.
2/ My Nazi picture was posted in an attempt to show that different people are offended by different things - as I have explained before.
3/ The Tanika episode is closed.
If Victor can't, or won't accept these explanations, I don't really give a flying ****, but I hope that some of the less cerebrally challenged can.
