i'm a newbie :)
i played b-g occasionally in hs/college then worked and now have some time for easier things. i tried chess for a year or so, too much thinking & not enough fun, looked at othello, it's just as hard as chess and now looking into backgammon
i poked around internet, found some good websites & software (gnugb monte carlo jellyfish bbgt realfibs etc etc) ordered a few books by robertie, tried some rounds against "expert" gnubg who does seem to get alot of doubles) so i need to read more strategy before trying to get my next handle = KickAssRayTeeng :)
blah blah blah, thanks for hosting this b-g forum its the most active of the few others i looked at
Welcome...sounds like me a ....few...years ago ;)
Hope you enjoy playing, learning and I will look forward to playing a game with you
Hi and welcome to Fibsboard and to Fibs! Noticed that Javafibs was not on your equipment list and thought you should know that Javafibs is probably the best client to use to play on Fibs for now. Hope to see you soon! :)

yes i looked at the javafibs & 3dfibs clients and will probably try them later, altho likely it will be a few months before i go for a fibs rating
my 1st big goal is more consistent wins against gnubg expert level. i need to read some books & articles and start the study practice cycle. i hope this works :)
