What did you mean by:

You're restatement of einstein's formula ,and many other statements, appear to imply that you bellieve in "luck" - ( did you never learn any math btw) - do you sincerely believe your're blessed?
PS I agree with Socksey about Mae West - most fibsters would have loved her . SHE was witty and deliberately self-deprecated to make most of her jokes - tho' I suspect her shouts would have had us ROFL too much to concentrate on our games

I do see a particular shrink on occasion, but not quite for the reason you imply.
I occasionally see a forensic psychiatrist/friend of mine, that appreciates my input [on account of my, shall we say, "eary emphatic capabilities", with reference to a program called "Profiler"] on the serial killers/serial rapists/child molesters etc., of this world, that cross his path professionally.

Now you really made yourself look like an absolute wanabe:
1. Fibs is not hosted in Holland. In fact, Fibs is not even hosted by a provider but it resides in Patti's home.
2. Fibsboard is NOT hosted by Xs4All but by Allset and WideXs. If you haven't figured it out by now: Fibs and Fibsboard are NOT on the same server and the administrators never have any contact.
3. Xs4All used to be a "hackers provider" but since they where taken over by the KPN they are a "lamers provider".
4. You prolly used netcraft to see what mandrake version is on this server. Your remark really shows that you don't know sh** about Linux. That number shows the version of when it was installed. I use a stable and safe kernel and update most stuff every month. I could edit the version file to fool you all and say it was Mandrake 11, or i could reinstall the com plete server to get this version file "up to date". Both would be equally stupid and lame and only a newbie would care.
5. Every professional webhoster knows to never use the latest verion of an OS since it is never stable and has bugs.
Go play with people you can impress with your cheap "computer idee" talk and stop trying to show of you mediocre IT knowledge.

You are quite right about your provider, I see that now, I glanced at the info of the whois I did with Neotrace on www.fibsboard.com and there is a contact person mentioned with an ~@xs4all.nl emailaddress, so I suspect that's how I got to think this board was hosted by them. This was after I clicked on <back> in my browser, while reading some postings, and got to some page, informing me on the os.
Still, it goes to show my honorable intentions and was only mentioned by me in a sidestep from the main story, because I was mentioned on the frontpage (homepage), that's all.

I used to state that, when I was younger and refusing to have my picture taken (threw some fairly impressive tantrums - and my family have lotsa pics of my hands, the back of my head etc :D ). Later in life I have decided it is kinda the opposite - I have never seen a picture that, in my opinion captures any of the essence of me!

I think Triple XXX is one of the best things to happen to fibsboard. I log in everyday just to see what new and interesting things he has to say. It is the same part of my brain that needs to watch train wrecks, car crashes, etc.

I can't help it WinePort, I was assimilated by Seven years ago ....

My XP Pro partition is even called 7 of 9 ..... although she was pretty perfect, she had her flaws (only 9 made of that prototype) ... well, the Mandrake partition of my multiboot system is therefore called 1 of trillion .... it was so good, trillions were made in my image ;-))

In our time, this "liberated" class has the time and finance to travel and discover that other cultures can be interesting. Since they don't have much money, they are only able to discover just enough of the other culture to stay interested. Anyone with the cash to stay abroad for longer periods of time will no doubt discover that other cultures suffer from the same problems we have in the west, perhaps worse.

Explanation/background info: At the time the news broke that hurricane Charley (they are named alphabetically, the first gets a name beginning with A and so forth) was going to hit the mainland I had a thought/vision that not that one (the third) but the sixth hurricane of the season was going to be the REAL killer.
Well, forgot about it and to my surprise I read in the newspaper this morning that hurricane Frances (F is the sixth letter) was possibly going to be as nasty as Charley was. Also read that it was the first time in more than a hundred years that TWO hurricanes of this class occur.

True, it happens, but you are confusing illegal from legal immigrant, also: Believe me, the majority of those "political refugees" are just fortune-seekers. They are soooo poor, that they can afford to pay on average $ 10.000,- to the human smugglers, the slave merchants of our time, for their one way trip. May I be cynical for a bit? I hope you don't mind, but with Triple_X's latest barrage of censorious ravings, I can't resist the urge to make a few cynical comments. First and foremost, the irony is that Triple_X's most viperine holier-than-thou attitudes are also his most obnoxious. As the French say, "Les extremes se touchent." My dream is for tired eyes to open and see clearly, broken spirits to find new energy, and weary arms to find the strength to build a new understanding that can transport us to tomorrow. And he does scare me: His editorials are scary, his ruses are scary, and most of all, his insinuations are based on two fundamental errors. They assume that mediocrity and normalcy are ideal virtues. And they promote the mistaken idea that it's okay for him to indulge his every whim and lust without regard for anyone else or for society as a whole. Even when the facts don't fit, he sometimes tries to use them anyway. He still maintains, for instance, that he has the mandate of Heaven to propound ideas that are widely perceived as representing outright Jacobinism. Triple_X wants to accelerate the natural tendency of civilization to devolve from order to chaos, liberty to tyranny, and virtue to vice. It gets better: He actually believes that we're supposed to shut up and smile when he says jejune things. I guess no one's ever told him that I plan to condemn his hypocrisy. This is a choice I have made; your choice is up to you. But let me remind you that we must comment on Triple_X's long-term goals. To do anything else, and I do mean anything else, is a complete waste of time.

And that's why I'm writing this letter; this is my manifesto, if you will, on how to protect our peace, privacy, and safety. There's no way I can do that alone, and there's no way I can do it without first stating that he has made some dangerous assumptions about careless geeks. That's pretty transparent. It is a fact so obvious that rational people have always known it and no one doubted it until Triple_X started trying to deny it. The fact to which I am referring states that a central point of Triple_X's belief systems is the notion that Triple_X is the one who will lead us to our great shining backgammon future. Perhaps he should take some new data into account and revisit that notion. I think he'd find that his claim that he is beyond reproach is not only an attack on the concept of objectivity, but an assault on the human mind.
(Yes, the public perception is that Triple_X has no right to be on fibs or fibsboard, but that's a different story.) Will his petulant chums condone cheating activities? Only time will tell. Think of the ratings that could be saved if we would just step back and consider the problem of his invectives in the larger picture of popular culture imagery. His secret agents are unified under a common goal. That goal is to create some capricious, pseudo-psychological profile of diane to discredit her opinions.
I wouldn't want to cast fibs into a ratings turmoil. I would, on the other hand, love to build a sane and healthy backgammon server free of Triple_X's destructive influences. But, hey, I'm already doing that with this letter. Now, more than ever, we must see through the haze of larrikinism. Why does irreligionism exist? What causes it? And why is it that 99 times out of 100, Triple_X's hypocrisy comes out when he denies that he surrounds himself with what I call complacent, rotten troglodytes? To understand the answers to those questions, you first have to realize that Triple_X asserts that there's no difference between normal people like you and me and obtuse, sinful scumbags. Most reasonable people, however, recognize such assertions as nothing more than baseless, if wishful, claims unsupported by concrete evidence. Lastly, I can't end this letter without mentioning that Triple_X wouldn't know a new idea if it hit him over the head.

This post is not meant to be witty or insulting, and I am afraid I won't even be able to make it eloquent. But I will do the best I can to provide a trenchant analysis of Triple_X's perorations. Read on, gentle reader, and hear what I have to say. I find that I am embarrassed. Embarrassed that some people just don't realize that Triple_X throws the word "leftist" around as if it had the same meaning to everyone. I mean, think about it.
I do not have the time, in one sitting, to go into the long answer as to why there is a tortured quality to his reasoning, a careful avoidance of obvious conclusions, and a painstaking circumnavigation of embarrassing illiteracy. But the short answer is that he wants to hurt people's feelings. You know what groups have historically wanted to do the same thing? Fascists and Nazis. The contentious corporatism I've been writing about is not primarily the fault of grumpy witlings, nor of the psychotic, piteous blowhards who overshout on FIBS. It is the fault of Triple_X and those of his ilk. However deep one delves into the citations and footnotes of his deeds, and however poised and "mainstream" Triple_X's opinions appear once challenged, there is no way to forget that we have a number of problems for which Triple_X bears most of the responsibility. To top that off, I've heard of imprudent things like voyeurism and favoritism. But I've also heard of things like nonviolence, higher moralities, and treating all beings as ends in and of themselves -- ideas which Triple_X's ignorant, unthinking, vexatious brain is too small to understand.
Considering the corruption and foolishness that characterize the worst kinds of sadistic bottom-feeders there are, when he was first found trying to suborn illogical spongers to call evil good and good evil, I was scared. I was scared not only for my personal safety; I was scared for the fibsters I love. And now that Triple_X is planning to place meddlesome sideshow barkers at the top of the backgammon hierarchy, I'm really terrified. Just think: There is a simple answer to the question of what to do about his initiatives: ban him. The difficult part is in implementing the answer. The answer is that we must take away as many of his opportunities for mischief as possible.
Its' as if Triple_X once heard some frightful knuckle-draggers say, "Cannibalism, wife-swapping, and the murder of infants and the elderly are acceptable behavior." What's amazing is that Triple_X was then able to use that belief plus some anecdotal evidence to convince his supporters that everyone with a different set of beliefs from his is going to get a one-way ticket to Hell, which makes me wonder, "Why do his co-conspirators want to ingratiate themselves with him?" Here's the answer, albeit in a somewhat circuitous and roundabout style: His favorite tactic is known as "deceiving with the truth". The idea behind this tactic is that Triple_X wins our trust by revealing the truth but leaving some of it out. This makes us less likely to call for a return to the values that made this backgammon server great. For a variety of reasons, some strategic, some ideological, some attitudinal, and all of them wrong, inhumane fruitcakes of one sort or another use brutal insults as a source of humor. Even though he presents a public face that avoids overt incendiarism, he claims his own superiority. Predictably, he cites no hard data for that claim. This is because no such data exist.
I was thinking about how each liberated mind that examines all of the evidence is a break in the chains that bind us all. And then it hit me. What I'm saying is this: the priggism "debate" is not a debate. It is a harangue, a politically motivated, brilliantly publicized, jejune attack on progressive ideas. As I make no claim to be an authority on the subject, I defer to the judgments of a certain Oxford University professor of psychology I happen to know, who has observed that Triple_X is not as prurient or deranged as you might think. He's more so.
As I noted at the beginning of this post, if you were to try to tell his adulators that I become impatient with people who refuse to recognize the key role that he is playing in the destruction of FIBS, they'd close their eyes and put their hands over their ears. They are, as the psychologists say, in denial. They don't want to hear that Triple_X gives me the heebie-jeebies. That fact may not be pleasant, but it is a fact regardless of our wishes on the matter. Given the range and unpredictability of human behavior, it is quite possible that his madness is the direct consequence of self-hatred, false assumptions about backgammon play, and stupidity, so to speak.
Assume for a moment that Triple_X has worn out his welcome. Triple_X is always prating about how his nostrums are all sweetness and light. I challenge all of you sick, careless conservatives out there to consider this: What I wrote just a moment ago is not the paranoid rambling of a clericalism-oriented wacko. It's a fact. Would we, as thinking people, believe bunny humpers who tried to tell us we're all obstinate? I say "no."

That's why he's trying so hard to prevent whistleblowers from reporting that in these days of political correctness and the changing of how history is taught in schools to fulfill a particular agenda, Triple_X maliciously defames and damagingly misrepresents everyone and everything around him. There's a word for that: libel.
Tell Triple_X that wanting to scar other fibsters self-image without any of the obvious repercussions is like wanting a one-sided coin, and you'll hear a loud "clang!" as his mind slams shut. He doesn't want to hear that. He doesn't want to believe that if I were to compile a list of his forays into cheating, server sabotage, and subversion, it would fill an entire page and perhaps even run over onto the following one. Such a list would surely make every sane person who has passed the age of six realize that you may be wondering why yawping, selfish leeches latch onto Triple_X's claims. It's because people of that nature need to have rhetoric and dogma to recite during times of stress in order to cope. That's also why Triple_X wants to undermine the basic values of online backgammon, responsibility, and manners. Personally, I don't want that. Personally, I prefer freedom. If you also prefer freedom, then you should be working with me to put an end to his evildoing. That statement can be most easily defended, since it is not quantitative, but qualitative, period. Triple_X's claim that he has any kind of moral compass in tact is factually unsupported and politically motivated. Triple_X will next warn us that by the end of the decade, harebrained deadheads will befuddle the public and make sin seem like merely a sophisticated fashion. If you think about it, you'll realize that Triple_X's warning is a self-fulfilling prophecy in the sense that we are becoming a world of froward, pretentious quixotic-types. Whatever weight we accord to that fact, we may be confident that throughout history, there has been a clash between those who wish to change the world for the better and those who wish to engulf the world in a dense miasma of radicalism. Naturally, Triple_X belongs to the latter category. Some day, I want to encourage opportunity, responsibility, and community. But you don't have to wait for that. What you can do now is talk to every fibster you know about the things I've told you in this post. Use every forum available to you. Chat on FIBS. Use your IM. And whatever you do, never be afraid to speak out against the evil that is Triple_X.
Fine post by diane and interesting, if less concise post by zoeboy. Incidentally I have met George on several occasions and found him to be a wise and well adjusted human being. I have many right wing friends and acquaintances, they have a right to their views, as does XXX. However, the way in which he chooses to pass them on to us is far beyond the norms of discourse. I fear for his sanity! If fibs is about anything, it should be about using play to unite people from all countries, so that we can learn to have respect for those with different life-styles, religions and views. It is hard to see how XXX's excreta promotes that.

Let me start by stressing that I am not attempting to suppress anyone's opinions, nor do I intend to demean NIHILIST personally for his beliefs or worldviews. But I myself do believe that I must take a strong position on NIHILIST's vituperations, which, after all, palm off our present situation as the compelling ground for worldwide diabolism. Does he think his arguments through, or does he just chug along on his computer writing about whatever trite apothegms happen to suit his needs that day? I ask, because I pledge -- in my daily life, in my family, my work, my community, my country, and my region -- to take steps toward creating an inclusive society free of attitudinal barriers. A clue might be that he would have us believe that it's okay to foster pessimism at every opportunity. Yeah, right.

Whereas NIHILIST claims that he knows 100% of everything 100% of the time, I claim that there is still hope for our society, real hope -- not the false sense of hope that comes from the mouths of wanton carpetbaggers, but the hope that makes you eager to argue about his commentaries.
His crusades are not the solution to our problem. They are the problem. It's doubtlessly a tragedy that his goal in life is apparently to tip the scales in his favor. Here, I use the word "tragedy" as the philosopher Whitehead used it. Whitehead stated that "the essence of dramatic tragedy is not unhappiness. It resides in the solemnity of the remorseless working of things," which I interpret as saying that honest people will admit that even NIHILIST's horoscope says he's logorrheic. Concerned people are not afraid to make plans and carry them out. And sensible people know that NIHILIST's fans tend to fall into the mistaken belief that the moon is made of green cheese, mainly because they live inside a NIHILIST-generated illusion-world and talk only with each other. NIHILIST claims that narcissism brings one closer to nirvana. That claim illustrates a serious reasoning fallacy, one that is pandemic in his campaigns. Then again, I once had a nightmare in which NIHILIST was free to control what we do and how we do it. When I awoke, I realized that this nightmare was frighteningly close to reality. For instance, if I had to choose the most Fabianism-prone specimen from NIHILIST's welter of petty gabble, it would have to be NIHILIST's claim that he can walk on water.
In plain, simple-to-understand English, we can all have daydreams about Happy Fuzzy Purple Bunny Land, where everyone is caring, loving, and nice. Not only will those daydreams not come true, but I unequivocally feel that NIHILIST has insulted everyone with even the slightest moral commitment. He obviously has none, or he wouldn't goad disagreeable spivs (especially the drossy type) into hurling epithets at his enemies. He likes to imply that animalism is a viable and vital objective for our nation's educational institutions. This is what his protests amount to, although, of course, they're daubed over with the viscid slobber of vitriolic drivel devised by his accomplices and mindlessly multiplied by rabid twerps (especially the ignominious type). To state it in stark and simple terms, NIHILIST says that everyone would be a lot safer if he were to monitor all of our personal communications and financial transactions -- even our library records. Why on Earth does NIHILIST need to monitor our library records? This can be answered most easily by stating that NIHILIST is like a pigeon. Pigeons are too self-absorbed to care about anyone else. They poo on people they don't like; they poo on people they don't even know. The only real difference between NIHILIST and a pigeon is that NIHILIST intends to deface a social fabric that was already deteriorating. That's why I have a dream, a mission, a set path that I would like to travel down. Specifically, my goal is to begin the debate about NIHILIST's slogans. Of course, he does not tolerate any view that differs from his own. Rather, NIHILIST discredits and discards those people who contradict him along with the ideas that they represent. Maybe NIHILIST has a reason for acting the way he does, but I doubt it. Unless you and I are morally inferior to the most disrespectful calumniators you'll ever see, it is simply wrong to conclude that he has the mandate of Heaven to defile the air and water in the name of profit.
A recent series of hearings, lawsuits, and media reports demonstrates that he is not as vile or inconsiderate as you might think. He's more so. In an atmosphere of false rumors and misinformation, if I were elected Ruler of the World, my first act of business would be to build a better world, a cleaner world, a safer world, and a saner world. I would further use my position to inform certain segments of the Earth's population that NIHILIST presents himself as a disinterested classicist lamenting the infusion of politically motivated methods of pedagogy and analysis into higher education. He is eloquent in his denunciation of modern scholarship, claiming it favors abominable warmongers. And here we have the ultimate irony, because his idiotic claim that divine ichor flows through his veins is just that, an idiotic claim.

Since I don't know NIHILIST that well, I'll have to be a bit presumptuous when I say that his true goal is to strip people of their rights to free expression and individuality. All the statements that his drones make to justify or downplay that goal are only apologetics; they do nothing to lead the way to the future, not to the past. I have this advice to offer: The world has changed, NIHILIST; get used to it. Listen up: We must truly demand a thoughtful analysis and resolution of our problems with NIHILIST. Does that sound extremist? Is it too unconscionable for you? I'm sorry if it seems that way, but that's life. Like I said, if we look beyond his delusions of grandeur, we see that if I had my druthers, NIHILIST would never have had the opportunity to emphasize the negative in our lives instead of accentuating the positive. As it stands, if I were a complete sap, I'd believe NIHILIST's line that arriving at a true state of comprehension is too difficult and/or time-consuming. Unfortunately for him, I realize that NIHILIST wants all of us to believe that honesty and responsibility have no cash value and are therefore worthless. That's why he sponsors brainwashing in the schools, brainwashing by the government, brainwashing statements made to us by politicians, entertainers, and sports stars, and brainwashing by the big advertisers and the news media.

BTW, one of my pet projects is mobilising lots of "white hat" leet hackers to join an organisation, most probably a foundation, that conducts socalled "security-audits" for major corporations and/or not quite so big businesses, since most multinationals employ their own hackers to secure their network. This is actually a good choice of name operating on , potentially , four levels:
Simple : Repetition of "Phi"
Base : the behaviour of cats (intelligent / sneaky etc)
Mathematical : Phi is generally used to mean the entire surrounding state in which an equation applies - line could therefore be a direction to take to enter this state? This leads directly to perhaps the most interesting "pun" and a potential logo for your co. XXX (c. spielberg (2004))
Visual : Phi , in capital form , is generally represented by a circle with a vertical line thru' it . Changing this line to reflect the "line" in co. name one ends with - an arrow in a target ? , a dartboard? How 'bout cats throwing darts?
