FIBS Board backgammon forum

So,

After Vegas suggested that anyone using Rod's site wont' be taken seriously, I decided to get the JavaFIBS app.

Unfortunately, I can't connect through it.  There's no help file.  Can anyone help me troubleshoot?

I cant help very much - but report the same thing - some browsers wont let me use the applet - I can use it from an internet cafe for instance - but not from the work computers.  When you click 'connect to fibs' - a login box should appear - if it doesnt, it means your browser/security  :wacko: settings are such it wont work.  This is guesswork on my part - just adding to this in the hope someone can clarify it for us.

I take it you have a login id and password for fibs - that has to be created before you use the applet - then you can fill out the box.

The login applet is coming up - it takes my information in and spits back at me:  "can,t log onto fibs.com server...."


But, now I just downgraded my Java2 app to relase 1.3 instead of 1.4, and I can log on, but the following happens:

*** Trying to connect to fibs.com...

*** Connected to fibs.com.

*** You are disconnected.


ARGH.

Then I tried taking the Norton monitor of the port off... and I can log in!

I hope this helps anyone else who is having the same problem :)
