*** FIBS Party in Berlin (Germany): 21.5.-23.5.2004 ***[/size]

You're all invited to come on Friday, May 21st, 2004 to Berlin to the 2. German FIBS Party. First visitors are welcome from 2 o'clock PM. On Saturday, May 22nd will be held the main event with a tournament. Events on Sunday aren't decided on yet.

Ihr seid alle sehr herzlich eingeladen, am Freitag, den 21. Mai 2004 nach Berlin zur 2. Deutschen FIBS-Party zu kommen. Wir starten in etwa ab 14.00 Uhr. Am Sonnabend, den 22. Mai. findet das Haupttreffen mit einem Backgammon-Turnier statt. Die Aktivitäten am Sonntag ergeben sich dann spontan.

The location will probably be a pub near Kurfürstendamm in the center of Berlin. However, this depends slightly on the number of participants. Right across the street is a hotel available. Please contact Wallenstein for details. Other cheaper accomodation in hostels nearby are also possible.

Please get in touch with us soon as Berlin will be very crowded at this date. So booking rather soon is really recommended.

Die Party wird voraussichtlich in einer Alt-Berliner Kneipe nahe des Kudamm im Zentrum von Berlin stattfinden. Falls wir zu viele werden, müßten wir uns noch was neues suchen. Direkt gegenüber gibt's ein Hotel, für das Wallenstein vermutlich günstigere Konditionen vermitteln kann. Also fragt ihn. Andere, billigere Unterkünfte sind in der Nähe aber auch zu haben.

Also meldet Euch bitte bald, da Berlin zu dieser Zeit recht voll sein wird. Deswegen sollte möglichst füh gebucht werden.

Wer kommt denn eigentlich? Ich weiß zwar von einer Reihe von Leuten aus dem Chat, daß sie gerne/wahrscheinlich/sicher kommen werden. Aber um eine ÃÅ"bersicht zu bekommen, wäre eine Wortmeldung schon nicht schlecht.

Also hebt mal Eure virtuellen Hände und schreibt was!

P.S.: Ich habe gehört, daß einige gleich mit Partner anreisen. Das ist natürlich noch besser. Berlin ist immer sehenswert.



Who will actually come? From chatting with people I know of some who would like to or will come. But for getting an overview it would be nice if you could leave a notice here.

P.S.: I've heard that a few will come with their partners. That's even better. Berlin is always worthwhile visiting.

I just discovered that the party is on the Himmelfahrt weekend. Before I commit to anything, I'd like to make sure that there are no plans with my friends already on that weekend. But I'd love to attend, and if I am there, I have 4 sleep spaces or so to offer, so stay tuned.

ich habe mich gestern um ein Hotelzimmer in Berlin bemüht und muss vermelden, dass viele Hotels bereits ausgebucht sind. Viele Touristen nutzen Himmelfahrt für ein langes Wochenende in Berlin.

Allen, die derzeit noch ohne Unterkunft sind, empfehle ich, sich rasch darum zu kümmern!

I searched a hotel in Berlin for myself this weekend. As many people use "Himmelfahrt" (bank holiday) to spend a long weekend in Berlin, many hotels do not have any vacancies any more.

If you don't have a place to sleep yet, you should arrange it as soon as possible!

alles klar, ich bin in Berlin. 4 Schlafplätze gibt's hier. Außenklo, hängende Badewanne, Ofenheizung (naja, das ist wahrscheinlich egal im Mai), mind. 3 olle Matratzen.

all right, I will be here in Berlin and I have 4 sleep spaces to offer. Toilet in the staircase (that's typical for pre-unified Berlin), hanging bathtub, oven heating (well, that's probably irrelevant in May), at least 3 old matrasses.

Due to some unfortunate problems with the location that was originally intended for the 2nd German FIBS party, we had to move to another place. But the new one is only 3 blocks away from the old and far better and bigger.

Hallo zusammen,

Das ganze nochmal auf Deutsch...

Leider ist es nötig geworden, für die 2. Deutsche FIBS Party eine neue Lokalität zu suchen. Es ist aber nicht weiter schlimm, denn sie ist schon gefunden, nur 3 Straßen weiter und vor allem viel besser und größer als die alte.
