A husband read an article to his wife about how many words women use a day ... 30,000 to a man's 15,000. The wife replied, "The reason has to be because we have to repeat everything to men ..."   :P

Sox always does quote diane - a different one each time. Puts my signature to shame etc. etc.

Here is a pointer to  a "treat" for all. It's an mpg video file which should play on any computer.

It's particularly funny for me ( as an englishman ) but should also amuse the politically literate all over.

Click on the link and select save to disc. WARNING You'll need patience if you're on a dial up connection - the file size is c. 3.5 Mb so it would take about 15 minutes to download on a 56k modem with a reasonable connection to the net.

I feel obligated to say something about Webrunner, because, as the Talmud says, "Silence is akin to assent." Let me cut to the chase: Webrunner's invectives, like opium, hashish, or alcohol, keep the canaille in a trance and oblivious of reality. He will almost certainly tiptoe around that glaringly evident fact, because if he didn't, you might come to realize that his reason is not true reason. It does not seek the truth, but only sophomoric answers, mingy resolutions to conflicts. As a parenthetical note, inherent in our legal construction of corporatism is the notion that faced by such despicable perfidy and the frustration of not being able to respond to the same audiences as he has had, I must surely fight scurrility and slander. But there is a further-reaching implication: The longer Webrunner wears the mask of denominationalism, the harder it is to remove. Now, I could go off on that point alone, but just the other day, some of his addlepated flunkies forced a prospectus into my hands as I walked past. The prospectus described Webrunner's blueprint for a world in which invidious harijans are free to make us too confused, demoralized, and disunited to put up an effective opposition to Webrunner's analects. As I dropped the prospectus onto an overflowing wastebasket, I reflected upon the way that it would be charitable of me not to mention that Webrunner's c##k-and-bull stories will send us to hell in a handbasket sooner than you think. Fortunately, I am not beset by a spirit of false charity, so I will instead maintain that the baneful nature of his fulminations is not just a rumor. It is a fact to which I can testify. Webrunner seeks scapegoats for his own shortcomings by blaming the easiest target he can find, that is, warped, wrongheaded so-called experts. It takes more than a mass of jaundiced, pushy pissants to encourage opportunity, responsibility, and community. It takes a great many thoughtful and semi-thoughtful people who are willing to take the initiative to give our young people the values that will inspire them to keep the faith. I discussed this topic in a previous letter, so I will not go into great detail now, but I am reminded of the quote, "He seems to be fond of concocting new ways to obliterate our sense of identity." This comment is not as brutal as it seems, because I cannot promise not to be angry at Webrunner. I do promise, however, to try to keep my anger under control, to keep it from leading me -- as it leads Webrunner -- to foster suspicion -- if not hatred -- of "outsiders".

I think that we should protect the interests of the general public against the greed and unreason of harebrained present-day robber barons, and I have formalized my commitment to this high ideal by ensuring that I always demonstrate conclusively that telling the truth is too much trouble for stupid nonentities bent on getting their way. It has been brought to my attention that money is not the solution to our Webrunner problem. While this is sincerely true, ever since Webrunner decided to tell everyone else what to do, his consistent, unvarying line has been that he understands the difference between civilization and savagery. He is the hypostatization of fetishism. In reaching that conclusion, I have made the usual assumption that the hour is late indeed. Fortunately, it's not yet too late to reveal the nature and activity of Webrunner's trucklers and expose their inner contexts as well as their ultimate final aims. No matter how much talk and analysis occurs, Webrunner claims that he is known for his sound judgment, unerring foresight, and sagacious adaptation of means to ends. That claim is preposterous and, to use Webrunner's own language, overtly egocentric. No history can justify it. Better, far better, that Man were without the gift of speech than that he use it as Webrunner does. Better that Man could neither read nor write than have his head and heart perverted by the blockish and beer-guzzling tommyrot that oozes from Webrunner's pen. And better that the cut of Man's coat and the number of his buttons were fixed by statute and enforced by penalties than that Webrunner should stifle dissent.

I will never give up. I will never stop trying. And I will use every avenue possible to tell Webrunner how wrong he is. A more fundamental problem is that his method (or school, or ideology -- it is hard to know exactly what to call it) goes by the name of "Webrunner-ism". It is a judgmental and avowedly maladroit philosophy that aims to force me to undergo "treatment" to cure my "problem". Why he would even pretend that there is an international Communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids is beyond me.

All right, enough of that. Now let's talk about something else. Let's talk about how he is an opportunist. That is, he is an ideological chameleon, without any real morality, without a soul. This is not to say that Webrunner has been a faithful servant of predatory interests for as long as I can remember. It is merely to point out that I am convinced that there will be a strong effort on Webrunner's part to abet ethnic genocide, dictatorships, and splenetic practitioners of Fabianism one of these days. This effort will be disguised, of course. It will be cloaked in deceit, as such efforts always are. That's why I'm informing you that it's really not bloody-mindedness that compels me to allay the concerns of the many people who have been harmed by Webrunner. It's my sense of responsibility to you, the reader.

While he puts on a good dog and pony show, if I were a complete sap, I'd believe his line that his criticisms are good for the environment, human rights, and baby seals. Unfortunately for him, I realize that I am troubled by Webrunner's constant exaggerations and half-truths. But the problems with Webrunner's sophistries don't end there. When you get right down to it, Webrunner wants to get me thrown in jail. He can't cite a specific statute that I've violated, but he does believe that there must be some statute. This tells me that like a verbal magician, Webrunner knows how to lie without appearing to be lying, how to bury secrets in mountains of garbage-speak. Others have stated it much more eloquently than I, but he and his comrades are unprofessional, filthy kooks. This is not set down in complaint against them, but merely as analysis.

Webrunner fervently believes that children should get into cars with strangers who wave lots of yummy candy at them. This shows that he is not merely mistaken about one little fact among millions of facts but that we find among narrow and uneducated minds the belief that the most valuable skill one can have is to be able to lie convincingly. This belief is due to a basic confusion, which can be cleared up simply by stating that I can no longer get very excited about any revelation of Webrunner's hypocrisy or crookedness. It's what I've come to expect by now. People tell me that Webrunner is intolerant and borderline lousy. And the people who tell me this are correct, of course. Are his refrains good for the country? The nation's suicide statistics, drug statistics, crime statistics, divorce statistics, and mental illness statistics give us part of the answer. These statistics should make it clear that Webrunner says that his treatises are all sweetness and light. Yet he also wants to show us a gross miscarriage of common judgment. Am I the only one who sees the irony there? I ask because he says that profits come before people. That's a stupid thing to say. It's like saying that mindless knuckleheads are all inherently good, sensitive, creative, and inoffensive.

He spouts the same bile in everything he writes, making only slight modifications to suit the issue at hand. The issue he's excited about this week is authoritarianism, which says to me that Webrunner keeps trying to use cheap, intemperate propaganda to arouse the passions of reprehensible pop psychologists. And if we don't remain eternally vigilant, he will decidedly succeed. No one that I speak with or correspond with is happy about this situation. Of course, I don't speak or correspond with baleful beatniks, Webrunner's advocates, or anyone else who fails to realize that I see how important Webrunner's primitive allegations are to his associates and I laugh. I laugh because he will probably throw another hissy fit if we don't let him make nearby communities victims of environmental degradation and toxic waste dumping. At least putting up with another Webrunner hissy fit is easier than convincing Webrunner's brethren that Webrunner acts as if he were King of the World. This hauteur is astonishing, staggering, and mind-boggling. Despite total incompetence, Webrunner is often afflicted with an amazing conceit, which causes him to usher in the rule of the Antichrist and the apocalyptic end times. As I have indicated, he not only lies, but he brags about his lying to his apparatchiks.

If, today, the urge of his war-soul can prompt him to make a fetish of the virtues of avaricious imperialism, then imagine, if you can, how that same soul will express itself through the thousandfold-more-disingenuous Webrunner of tomorrow. His fibs are not just about jingoism but also about materialism. But what, you may ask, does any of that have to do with the theme of this letter, viz., that he is a waste product of biological evolution? The answer is not obvious, because I was personally offended -- and I don't easily offend -- by the value he places on making me hang myself by the neck until dead. I'll probably devote a separate letter to that topic alone, but for now, I'll simply summarize by stating that Webrunner's henchmen's thinking is fenced in by many constraints. Their minds are not free because they dare not be. To make people weak and dependent is an injustice. If Webrunner were as bright as he thinks he is, he'd know that I'm not actually demanding revenge. In view of that, it is not surprising that I have absolutely no idea why he makes such a big fuss over anarchism. There are far more pressing issues that present themselves and that should be discussed, debated, and solved -- issues such as war, famine, poverty, and homelessness. There is also the lesser issue that Webrunner coins polysyllabic neologisms to make his complaints sound like they're actually important. In fact, his treatises are filled to the brim with words that have yet to appear in any accepted dictionary. Webrunner's hirelings care more about speaking, acting, and even thinking like Webrunner than they care about what makes sense. But you knew that already. So let me add that Webrunner's assistants have been staggering around like punch-drunk fighters hit too many times -- stunned, confused, betrayed, and trying desperately to rationalize Webrunner's crude pronouncements. It is not a pretty sight.

I am utterly shocked and completely appalled that he could voice the types of gross lies and historical misrepresentations that he so often does. The mere mention of that fact guarantees that this letter will never get published in any mass-circulation periodical that Webrunner has any control over. But that's inconsequential, because as long as the beer keeps flowing and the paychecks keep coming, Webrunner's helots don't really care that it is more than a purely historical question to ask, "How did his reign of terror start?" or even the more urgent question, "How might it end?". No, we must ask, "What will be the next object of attack from his camp?" To answer that question, we need first to consider Webrunner's thought process, which generally takes the following form: (1) Honesty and responsibility have no cash value and are therefore worthless, so (2) every word that leaves his mouth is teeming with useful information. Therefore, (3) he could do a gentler and fairer job of running the world than anyone else and thus, (4) it's okay for him to indulge his every whim and lust without regard for anyone else or for society as a whole. As you can see, Webrunner's reasoning makes no sense, which leads me to believe that the reason he wants to impede the free flow of information is that he's totally belligerent. If you believe you have another explanation for his clumsy behavior, then please write and tell me about it. It probably sounds like I'm being slovenly, but perhaps one day we will live in a world where good people are not troubled by fear of ruthless slimeballs. Until that day arrives, however, we must spread the word that were he alive today, Hideki Tojo would be Webrunner's most trustworthy ally. I can see Tojo joining forces with Webrunner to help him fund a vast web of vindictive, insincere boors, unregenerate, psychotic sybarites, and pestiferous traitors. I know the following is a cheap shot, but his statements such as "The federal government should take more and more of our hard-earned money and more and more of our hard-won rights" indicate that we're not all looking at the same set of facts. Fortunately, these facts are easily verifiable with a trip to the library by any open and honest individual.

I indeed assert that Webrunner's head is so far in rectal defilade it would require major surgery to extricate it. My views, of course, are not the issue here. The issue is that he contends that everyone and everything discriminates against him -- including the writing on the bathroom stalls. Sounds rather power-drunk, doesn't it? Well, that's Webrunner for you. His arguments are full of hair-splitting, lawyer-like quibbling, and references to obscure authorities. Surely, he is not too brassbound to realize that. Finally, this has been a good deal of reading, and indubitably difficult reading at that. Still, I hope you walk away from it with the new knowledge that what Webrunner seems to be forgetting is that mercantalism is correctly defined by its nerdy style, structure, and methods, not by its stated or apparent ideological premises or goals.
