got these pics in thai town or little armenia your pic. near hollywood blvd and western. hollywood and western metro red line station. these are armenians playing backgammon. they denied they were gambling they probably thought i was a cop.

Resh were they playing traditional backgammon with no doubling cube? That's still fairly standard in Greece for example.

my guess, no doubling cube being used. however, there are two clearly visible cubes to the players left. what could they be?

first pic. hollywood and highland - the times square of hollywood.

second pic. premiere at the el capitan for the movie "the prestige".

third pic. hollywood and vine from vine between hollywood and sunset. the emerging (or re-emerging hollywood theater distict).l

hmmm it is almost sure that these people play cubeless (a tavli game) but i am not sure that there are cubes to the left of the players. They look like casino chips for me.....

Shuggie

Were they whining about their opponents dice or is that just a trait of FIBs Armenians?
Don't hate me because I'm beautifull, just love me in that special way

they are definitely dice to the players left. i didn't notice much whining. even though the streets near where i live say "little armenia". the true little armenia is glendale california. if you notice he is throwing the dice with his hand. they were not using a cup to roll the dice.
